The Haskell County Court Clerk handles all marriage records in this part of eastern Oklahoma. Their mailing address is P.O. Box 549, Stigler, OK 74462. The courthouse itself is at 202 E. Main St. in Stigler. Call (918) 967-3323 for general questions or (918) 967-2884 to reach the clerk directly. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The office closes on state holidays. Walk-ins are fine during normal hours, but if you need a specific older record pulled from storage, calling first can save a trip. Both people who want a marriage license must come to the Haskell County Court Clerk in person. Bring a valid photo ID. A driver's license, passport, or military ID all work. The standard fee is $50 in Haskell County. If you bring an original premarital counseling certificate showing at least four hours of counseling from a qualified provider, the fee drops to $5 under 43 O.S. 5.1. Copies of that certificate will not be accepted. It must be the original document.

Once you pay and both sign the application, the clerk gives you the license. It stays good for 10 days. After your ceremony, the officiant and two witnesses who are at least 18 sign the form. The completed license needs to go back to the Haskell County Court Clerk within 5 days. That returned document becomes the official marriage record on file.

The best free tool for looking up Haskell County marriage records is the Oklahoma State Courts Network. OSCN is free to use. It works on any phone, tablet, or computer. You do not need an account. Select "Haskell" from the county list, pick "Marriage License" from the case type menu, and type in at least a last name. You can add a first name or narrow by date range if you want. Results show the case number, both names, and the date the license was filed.

OSCN data goes back to the 1990s for most Oklahoma counties. For older Haskell County marriage records before that time, you will need to contact the courthouse or check with the Oklahoma Historical Society. Smaller county offices like Haskell can take 48 to 72 hours to post new filings to the OSCN system. A license filed this week might not appear online until next week. If your search on OSCN comes up empty, try On Demand Court Records as a second option. ODCR uses the same court data but shows it in a different layout that some people prefer. The OK2Explore portal from the Oklahoma Department of Health can also help you cross-check names using birth and death record indexes.

The OSCN case search portal lets you look up Haskell County marriage records alongside court filings from all 77 Oklahoma counties.

Haskell County Marriage License Rules

Oklahoma law sets the age and ID rules for marriage licenses. You must be at least 18 with a valid photo ID. If you are 16 or 17, a parent or legal guardian must come to the Haskell County clerk's office with you and sign a consent form. A certified birth certificate is also needed for minors. Anyone under 16 can only get a license through a court order from a district judge. There is no blood test required anywhere in Oklahoma, and there is no residency rule either. You do not have to live in Haskell County or even in Oklahoma to get a license here. The ceremony must take place in the state, though.

Adults 18 and over face no waiting period at all. Under 18, a 72-hour wait applies unless a judge waives it. One other rule to keep in mind: anyone who got a divorce in Oklahoma within the last six months cannot marry someone new during that time. They can only remarry their former spouse. This rule is specific to Oklahoma divorces. A divorce granted in Texas or any other state does not trigger it. The Haskell County Court Clerk checks for this when you file your application.

Under Title 43, Section 7 of Oklahoma Statutes, ministers and officiants no longer need to pre-register their credentials with the court. This change took effect November 1, 2022. The person performing the ceremony signs the certificate to confirm their authority.

What Haskell County Marriage Records Include

A Haskell County marriage record has three parts. The Affidavit on Application is filled out by both people at the clerk's office. It shows names, ages, and ID info. The Marriage License is the document the clerk issues that allows the ceremony to happen. After the wedding, the Certificate of Marriage gets signed by the officiant and two witnesses, then goes back to the Court Clerk. That certificate is what gets filed as the permanent record.

Most Haskell County marriage records show both names, ages at the time of the marriage, and the ceremony date. Older records sometimes note whether the bride had been married before. Later records may also include birthplace, address, and parent names. On OSCN, you can see applicant names and the license issue date. But the system does not display the certificate itself. For the full details, you need the physical file from the Haskell County Court Clerk's office.
