Both people applying for an Oklahoma County marriage license must show up at the clerk's office together. Bring a valid photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. The fee is $50 at every county in Oklahoma. Couples who bring an original premarital counseling certificate showing at least four hours from a qualified provider pay only $5 under 43 O.S. 5.1. The clerk needs the original certificate. Copies will be turned away. After you sign the application and pay, the clerk issues the license right then. It is valid for 10 days.
One thing that surprises some couples: Oklahoma County Court Judges do not perform daily courthouse marriage ceremonies. You will need to arrange your own officiant. After the wedding, the officiant and two witnesses age 18 or older sign the completed license. That form must come back to the Oklahoma County Court Clerk within 5 days. The returned license is filed as the permanent marriage record.

Oklahoma County Marriage License Requirements
Oklahoma County follows the same state rules as every other county. You must be at least 18 years old with a valid government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. Applicants aged 16 or 17 need parental consent and a certified birth certificate. Anyone under 16 requires a court order from a district judge.
There is no blood test and no residency requirement. You do not have to live in Oklahoma County or even in the state. But the wedding ceremony must take place somewhere in Oklahoma. Adults face no waiting period. Under-18 applicants must wait 72 hours unless a judge waives it.
The six-month divorce restriction is worth knowing about if either person was recently divorced. Under Oklahoma law, someone who got a divorce in Oklahoma within the past six months cannot marry a new person during that window. They can only remarry the former spouse. This applies only to Oklahoma divorces. The Oklahoma County Court Clerk checks for this when processing applications. Under Title 43, Section 7, ministers no longer need to pre-register their credentials with the court. The officiant just signs the certificate after performing the ceremony. Two witnesses age 18 or older also sign.
Note: Oklahoma County judges do not perform courthouse wedding ceremonies, so you will need to find your own officiant before applying.
